Job Description

The Purchasing Administrator is a key role within the team assisting the purchasing department with their day-to-day administration tasks. The ideal candidate for this role is somebody who is conscientious with a high attention to detail. You should be a team player and able to work to deadlines when required to.

This is an interesting and varied role that will call for you to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy are critical for this position. On occasion you may be required to work out of hours which will be either as paid overtime or to have time off in lieu as agreed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raising and placing purchase orders on suppliers.
  • Ensuring the ERP database is maintained accurately with regard to stock levels, costs and lead times
  • Maintaining internal systems with latest delivery dates and trying to improve delivery dates where possible.
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  • Creating products on our internal stock management system.
  • Ensuring queries and emails are updated and responded to in a timely manner.
  • Answer queries relating to purchases and outstanding orders from internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Expediting suppliers deliveries and solving delivery issues
  • General administrative duties for the department.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working within a purchasing/buying department is desirable but not essential.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Highly organised.
  • Very strong administrative, communication and computer skills.
  • Able to create a strong rapport and relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Provide accurate information to colleagues.

Working hours are Monday – Friday 0830 – 1700 (1 hour lunch, 37.5 hours a week)
